The Downtown Main Street Historic District in East Hartford, Connecticut is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1996. It includes, as one of its 31 contributing buildings, the St. John's Episcopal Church, which is also NRHP-listed. The district includes most of East Hartford's central business district, extending along Main Street between Burnside Avenue and Governor Street, and extending along Chapman Street to Chapman Place. The area was developed primarily in the first half of the 20th century, as East Hartford transitioned from a rural to a more urban and suburban community.〔 and (accompanying 18 photos )〕 ==See also==
